4th Annual Business Competition:
over 100 submissions!
234 people requested a dossier, of which 106 were subsequently submitted for the County Council’s 4th Annual Business Competition - signifying an excellent response rate of 43.6%. Most of the candidates were young entrepreneurs with recent start-ups (67%) and people with a business idea (26%).
The prize - 34,000 euros of grants awarded by the council, of which the winner will receive 10,000 euros. The county is hoping to assist entrepreneurs with the putting in place, consolidation or development of their business. The competition is being organised by the Economic Expansion Committee, Orne Développement.
The jury, composed of elected representatives, business leaders and representatives from various freelance professional bodies, will meet at the beginning of June to select the winners. Altogether, a dozen prizes will be awarded at the prize-giving ceremony on 26th June at the Council’s Hôtel du Département.
Results from previous competitions show that 70% of previous prizewinners are still in business, of which more than 90% are still in the county.
