Reopening of the RD17 with a contraflow
from the afternoon of 27th April
There was a landslide onto the RD17 near Saint-Pierre-du-Regard during the night of 17th March.
Work has been undertaken to secure the site and remove dangerous rocks which are in danger of falling onto the road. Last week holes were drilled to enable the installation of 40mm metal trusses for holding in place the remaining rocks, work which has been completed today. The installation of a protective mesh along the cliff-edge to stop small stones and debris from falling will be started next Monday and continue over a two week period. This work will be carried out in parallel with a contraflow system.
From the afternoon of 27th April, a contraflow system will be put in place to allow traffic to start using the road.
