42 youngsters invited to the Council for the
Armed Services Induction
As part of a broader civic education, young adults of 17 years old attend three days of information and workshops about national defence. On the 24th April the council hosted for the first time an Armed Services Induction (JAPD*), which was organised by the National Service Department.
This meeting par excellence is an opportunity for young adults to understand the part they could play in the Armed Services and national defence, as well as being a French and European citizen. The JAPD is a compulsory and universal module of secondary education for both boys and girls. At the end of the induction, certificates were awarded by Robert Loquet, representing President Alain Lambert, and Commandant Garola, Director of the National Service Department in Caen.
The JAPD is usually hosted by the Lycée Jeanne d’Arc in Argentan, so this was an opportunity for those attending to visit the council and understand about its role and work.
