The Schola de l’Orne shine

For Saturday night’s « Pierres en lumières dans l’Orne », Orne Council opened its doors to the public and hosted its first concert of choral music.
Over 250 visitors came to hear the enchanting melodies and harmonies of the Schola de l’Orne as they sang in the central hall of the Lyautey Barracks which are now home to the Council.

As well as the magnificent religious capellas sung by the choir, visitors were given a short presentation of the Lyautey Barracks - explaining the property’s military history and the renovations that have been undertaken in order to install the different departments that make up the County Council. They also discovered an intimate view of Cuba in the exhibition “A Sunday in Cuba” (Un dimanche à Cuba) by Christian Vallée, and the exhibition of photographs by the winners of this year’s Spring Photography Festival, the “Best professional photographs of 2008″ (les plus belles photographies professionnelles de l’année 2008).
