A new choral festival announced

Alain Lambert, a great lover of choral music, has decided to involve the council in a major project to host an annual choral festival. There are a number of very talented choirs in the department which put on a rich and diverse programme of performances throughout the year.
For the last few months, the President and various departments of the council have been working on the development of a festival which will run through the year and end with a gala concert. It will start in June 2010 and all the choirs in the department are welcome to get involved.
Next year has been designated national Franco-Russian year, so the festival will be proposing that the choirs taking part sing interpretations from the ‘Polovtsian dances’ from the opera Prince Igor by Alexander Borodin and the cantata for Alexander Nevsky by Prokofiev.
