A88 - the Orne viaduct

Work on the Orne viaduct on the A88 between Falaise and Sées was inagurated on the 29th June. Present were Augustin de Romanet, Director of Caisse des Dépôts, Joël Rousseau, President of Alicorne (the contractors), Christian Leyrit, Prefet of Basse-Normandie, Prefet of Calvados, Laurent Beauvais, President of the Conseil Régional de Basse-Normandie, Alain Lambert, Senator and Président of Orne Council and Anne d’Ornano, President of Calvados.
The Falaise - Sées section is the final link in the 4-lane road between Caen and Alençon, and more genrally linking Lower Normandy with the transport infrasctructure in central and southern France.
The contract was won in January 2008 by a group of companies called Alicorne which includes Egis Projects, Caisse des Dépôts, NGE, Spie Batignolles, Malet, Demathieu & Bard, Valerian and AXA Investment Managers.
