Child Protection protocol
Sep 7th, 2009 • Posted by Alain Lambert • Category: Children & Young Adults
A change in the law on the 5th March 2007 placed the President of the Council at the head of Child Protection in the department. Protecting children and ensuring that they are able to flourish and meet their full potential is a delicate and ambitious project and one which must be tackled collectively.
That is why a protocol has been signed between concerned parties; the Council, magistrates, the education authority and associations working with children and young adults. Part of this partnership has been to create a Child Protection Unit which will handle information about possible child protection issues.
Last Friday, Jean-Pierre Blouet, vice president of the Commission for Social Affairs at Orne Council met with the Council’s cosignatories for the signing the of the new protocol.
