The 11th Spetember saw the first ever meeting of the department’s Family assistants.
At least 200 people were present at the event hosted by Jean-Pierre Blouet, vice-president of Orne Council and President of the Social Affairs Commission, who represented Alain Lambert.
Family assistants are salaried by the Council. They are qualified professionals who work under sometimes difficult and delicat conditions, looking after children and young adults in their own homes.
During the meeting Family assistants were given advice and information about issues such as swine flu. They were able to put questions to an expert, Christophe Bayard, and were given a kits containing two new guides and the first edition of a professional newsletter, “Intermédes”. The Council continues to work to strengthen its actions in the area of child placements and the support it provides to those who have chosen to work in this field.
