Breast-screening in the Mortrée district
Oct 2nd, 2009 • Posted by Alain Lambert • Category: Health
The ‘Mammobile 61′ is a mobile Brest Screening Unit.
On its 8th tour of the district, it offers all women between the ages of 40 and 74 the chance of a free mammography (a low-dose x-ray examination which is a quick, complication-free method of detecting cancer).
Thanks to its early-stage diagnosis, breast screening considerably increase your chances of surviving breast cancer. But this method of surveillance is only successful if it is repeated regularly, so make sure you keep up with your tests.
The screening service is organised by Orne Council in partnership with the French Health Services (CPAM and MSA) and in collaboration with a committee of 6 radiologists and Committee 61, a group of 200 volunteers working to raise public awareness.
