First “Crash Test” in the Orne

17,000 school children are transported within the Orne every day. Although accidents are rare, they most often happen around bus stops.
Orne Council is recognised nationally for its safety record and amongst its actions in this area is the modernisation of some 600 bus stops across the department, a huge project which is due to be completed by the end of 2010. In order to go even further, the council has decided to educate bus-users themselves to the dangers of the road.
That is why it organised the first “Crash Test” between a car and a pedestrian descending from a school bus, on Thursday the 1st October. See the video and photos below.
