The Project pour l’Orne and its Observatory

The ‘Observatoire territorial ornais’ or Orne Territorial Observatory has been created to monitor and assist with the Projet pour l’Orne à l’horizon 2020 - a roadmap for the department which was published in September 2006. The purpose of both the document and the Observatory are to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the department in order that it can make the right decisions for the future.
The Observatory had its first meeting on 4th December, with ‘demographics’ as its theme. Alain Lambert in his speech declared this to be “…an excellent idea, as any economic decisions should be founded on intimate knowledge of a population”.
